I was walking down this little street in Old San Juan called Caleta de las Monjas, the kind of street that makes you stop and just take it all in. The sunlight bouncing off the colorful buildings, the sound of distant music, and two Puerto Rican flags waving proudly in the breeze.

As a Puerto Rican myself, being here hit me deep. It felt like home,even though I grew up in the Bronx, this is where my roots are. Every corner here tells a story of pride, resilience, and beauty.

That’s what I wanted to capture in this painting. The warmth of the sun, the energy of the people, the history in every wall.
