As summer was coming to a close, I felt this wave of sadness, like I needed to capture one last New York City summer moment before it slipped away. That’s what inspired this painting.

New York has always been more than a city to me, it’s my home. And the subway isn’t just transportation, it’s where my whole journey started. As a kid, I would sit on these trains sketching strangers, teaching myself how to draw. Those moments shaped me into the artist I am today.

So this piece isn’t just trains under a summer sunset, it’s a personal tribute. A farewell to summer, but also a reminder of how deeply the city and its subways are part of me.
